Umpire Services
Are you an umpire looking for games to work? Is your team, club, or organization in need of umpires? Do you have a question about a baseball rule or need a rule clarified? Interested in becoming an umpire or want to learn more about it? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you've come to the right place. Contact the Academy either by phone or email and we can assist you.

The All Star Baseball Academy has access and connections to many umpires with various skill levels, ranging from tee-ball to adult leagues - We can provide you with an umpire that is right for your game level.

If you've attended umpire class and would like to ump some games, email us your information so we have it available when someone requests an umpire.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming an umpire email us and we will get you headed in the right direction.

2012 LL Umpire Clinic
The umpire clinic will be on Saturday, March 31st from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. It is mandatory for all new umpires to attend and strongly suggested for second year umpires they attend. The location is still to be determined, but if the weather stays we will hold the clinic a the Little League complex. Please let me know if you plan to be there. I will sending out more information as it gets closer to the date.

1)  Is the batter automatically out on an Infield Fly call?

2)  What are the rules for the runners on base, on an Infield Fly?
     Do they have to run? Do they have to tag up?

3)  If the ball is called as an Infield Fly, but is not caught, is the batter still out?

1) With an 0-2 count, the batter fouls a pitch sharp and direct to the catcher's mitt and then deflects off of his catcher's mask where it is then caught by the pitcher. The umpire calls the batter out on the foul tip? - TRUE or FALSE?


2) The batter hits a ground ball to the shortstop, who makes a bad throw to the first baseman with the ball rolling up the first baseman's arm and ends up being trapped agains the first baseman's shoulder. In the meantime, the batter-running crosses first base, the first baseman did not drop the ball but the umpire calls the batter-runner safe? - TRUE or FALSE?

3) The third baseman is attempting to catch a high foul fly ball in the coach's box.The coach stands perfectly still and the third baseman comes in contact with the coach causing the third baseman to drop the ball. The umpire calls the ball foul? - TRUE or FALSE?
